Step-by-step instructions on how to paint a wooden chest of drawers

The first step in painting a wooden dresser is to prepare it.

Our chest of drawers will be made of natural wood, which we can find at any furniture store for a reasonable price.

The secret to achieving the best results is to prepare the wood well, so that it will more evenly absorb the paint. Preparing our workspace is easy by placing newspaper or plastic under furniture to protect the floor and facilitate cleaning.

To paint the chest of drawers, we clean and sand down the wood until it is smooth to the touch. This will ensure the application of Pintyplus HOME spray paint looks much better.

Using tape, mark the surfaces you want to paint

To paint one drawer, remove the wooden drawers, and with masking tape mark out the areas to be painted and protect the rest. As shown in the photograph, apply two strips from corner to corner, crossing at the center.

Place a vertical strip of tape in the center of the drawer to divide it into two equal halves. On one side, tape one corner into a triangular shape.

Do the same with the other half: place a strip from the center to the corner, and cover it with tape so it looks like a triangle.

The third step is to prepare the painting area

For this area, choose one of the pink colors of the new Pintyplus HOME spray paint for this area. Cover one half of the drawer with newspaper so that it does not stain during painting.

Paint a part of the drawer with Light Pink from Pintyplus HOME

Place the Pintyplus Home aerosol 15 cm away from the area to be painted after shaking it vigorously for half a minute.

The next step is to apply the paint in cross layers, from left to right and from top to bottom, so that the surface is well covered.

When you have finished painting, invert the can until only gas comes out, so no paint obstructs the outlet.

The next step is to paint the adjacent area with the other shade of pink.

Once the first part has been painted, reserve the spray used and choose the Ancient Rose color from Pintyplus to create contrast in a different tone.

If you want to make sure the result is to your liking, you can remove Pintyplus Home paint within fifteen minutes of applying it. Once you have painted both sides, you can see the effect and verify that there are no imperfections. If you’d like to rectify it, you can remove it with soap and water.

Following the shapes and creating contrast between the two shades of pink, we will continue this process with the rest of the drawers.

The chest of drawers’ body and handles are the next step.

In the same manner as we applied White Linen to the drawers, apply White Linen to the chest of drawers body.

As a final option, you can also make the handles look different by applying the same color or changing them for geometric shapes, depending on the design of the wooden chest of drawers.
